Travellers have pitched up at the former Morrisons site in Hounslow.

More than seven caravans parked up in Hounslow West's Bath Road, opposite Hounslow West tube station on Sunday (February 26).

The group have already been reported to Hounslow Council, who do not own the land but have said they will assist where they can to move them on.

The site remains empty after the supermarket closed early 2016.

A Hounslow Council spokesman said: "We have been told that it is private land but Hounslow Council have made the owners aware of the situation.

"It will be up the land owners to take action to have them removed."

A resident, who does not wish to be named, told getwestlondon : "Travellers have moved into old Morrisons site in Hounslow West last night."

It comes just days after a group of around five caravans reportedly moved in to the car park of the Master Robert Hotel in Great West Road on Monday (February 20) evening.

Four days before, Metropolitan Police in the area moved on a group which settled at Bullbridge Tesco by the Southall and Hounslow border.

Police have not been able to confirm if it is the same group.

In January, the Morrisons site was taken over by squatters and used for an illegal rave.

Footage below shows police escorting people away from the venue.
