A group of travellers at Uxbridge Common were moved on by council staff on Tuesday (August 9) after an injunction was put in place to have them removed.

Reports of caravans on the common surfaced on Thursday August 4 and were reported to Hillingdon Council via Twitter.

Council staff were spotted escorting the travellers from the site and a caravan that was left behind with graffiti on was destroyed.

Deputy leader of Hillingdon Council tweeted on August 4 saying: “Uxbridge Common traveller incursion update, Hillingdon Council has served an injunction and has a security team on site overnight.”

Hillingdon Council's account tweeted the following day to say it was proceeding through the courts to evict them.

An eviction order was approved on Monday (August 8).

The council owned lands sits just of the B483 Park Road near Hillingdon Sports and Leisure Complex .

Some residents are looking to garner a team of volunteers to help with the clean-up process now the travellers have been evicted.

Last month travellers appeared on green land in West Drayton , while a group were also recently evicted from Ealing Common and left it in a mess.
