A trio of teenagers have been charged in connection with a series of moped robberies in Westminster.

The Metropolitan Police launched an investigation following a spate of the crime, mainly involving mobile phones snatched in parts of Westminster and Camden last week.

The incidents took place on Thursday (May 4) from around midday.

On Tuesday (May 9), the following young men were charged with conspiracy to rob:

  • Harry Stevens, 18, of Dorchester Avenue, Enfield, was arrested on Sunday (May 7) and charged on Tuesday (May 9). He is due to appear at Westminster Magistrates' Court this morning.
  • A 15-year-old boy arrested on Monday (May 8) and charged the following day and is due to appear at West London Youth Court.
  • A 16-year-old youth was arrested then released under investigation. He was re-arrested on Monday (May 8) and charged today (May 9) and is due to appear at West London Youth Court this morning.

A 17-year-old male who was charged on Sunday (May 7) with conspiracy to rob appeared at West London Youth Court the following day (May 8).

He has since been remanded in custody to appear at Southwark Crown Court on Monday June 5.

Detectives continue to investigate following a series of moped-enabled robberies and are keen to hear from anyone who might have photographs or dash-cam footage.
