A multi-vehicle collision is causing traffic on the A40 Western Avenue on Thursday (November 17) morning.

Three cars were involved in the damage only crash in Hillingdon, according to the Metropolitan Police.

One lane was closed (eastbound) just ahead of The Police War Memorial in Ruislip.

The lane was re-opened at around 8am.

Motorists are warned of tailbacks all the way down to Hillingdon Circus, following the accident.

The Metropolitan Police said they were called just before 7am to the A40 Hillingdon, eastbound.

A spokesman for the Met Police said: "It was a damage only collision before 7am on the A40 Hillingdon - eastbound.

"Three cars were involved."

TfL Traffic News tweeted at around 7.15am this morning that one was closed on the the A40 Western Avenue, due to a multi-vehicle collision.
