This year's Ealing Half Marathon was a big hit with the thousands of runners who took part, however it was not so popular with people trying to travel.

Athletes were treated to a warm and sunny late September day on Sunday (September 25) which made for ideal running conditions.

But some people were left fru strated by disruptions to the roads, saying Transport for London did not give warning.

Runners kicked of at around 9am to tackle the 13-mile course through Ealing.

This year's route started and finished in Lammas Park after a single lap through the centre of Ealing, Montpelier, Pitshanger, West Ealing, Hanwell and St Stephen's.

The chosen charities for this year's half marathon are the Alzheimer's Society, Cancer Research UK and CLIC Sargent.

Over the last two years the race has raised over £900,000 for different charities and organisers are hoping this year will raise more than ever before.

Runners took to Twitter to celebrate completing the race, while other people voiced their anger of the road closures and diversions.

The win went to Josphat Kemei who finished in an outstanding 1:04:14.

He was followed eight minutes later by Michael Aldridge with a time of 1:12:02 and then Alun Myers 1:12:04.
