Tesco has welcomed customers to its new branch in Fulham .

The Express store opened on February 23, and marked the occasion with a donation to the Imperial College Healthcare Charity .

The branch, in Parr’s Way, is employing 22 people from the area in a bid to bring a community feel to it.

Guest of honour at the opening was Lauren Levy, a fundraiser from the charity, which raises money to improve patient experience at the five London hospitals of Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust, including the store’s local hospital Charing Cross.

She cut the ribbon and was presented with a cheque for £500 from store manager Geoff Martin. Afterwards she said: “We are delighted that the new Tesco Express store is supporting our charity. This money will help us to create better amenities, improved environments and new treatments and services at Charing Cross Hospital .

“We look forward to working with staff and customers in the future and we welcome them to join our fundraising events, hold in-store fundraisers and volunteer with us.”

Mr Martin added: “ Tesco Express store manager, Geoff said: “We were delighted to be able to support the Imperial College Healthcare as it does such fantastic work for those living in the community.

"We are so pleased that Lauren came to open the new store and join in the celebrations with us.”
