A young quad bike rider is in a critical condition following a collision in Hayes.

The 19-year-old was injured when he apparently lost control and hit a wall, say police, who have appealed for witnesses to come forward.

The accident happened in Lansbury Drive, Hayes at about 4.50pm on Friday.

The man was treated at the scene by the London Ambulance Service before being taken to a central London hospital by air ambulance, where he remains in a critical condition.

Police say they are keen to speak to anyone in the area who saw the man driving the quad bike before or during the collision.

No arrests have been made and enquiries are continuing.
