A burglar who broke into a home in Harefield and stole a car has been jailed – only a month after he committed the crime.

Patrick Doran received a two-year sentence at Isleworth Crown Court on February 11, after pleading guilty to a single charge of burglary the same day.

Doran, 33, of Sandalwood Drive, in Ruislip, broke into an unoccupied semi-detached house in Park Lane, Harefield, on January 13, making off with an Audi.

Two days later, police located the vehicle in Ruislip, where Doran was arrested. He was later charged and remanded into custody, while the car was returned to its owner.

DC Chris Hayward, of the Hillingdon crime squad, said: "The evidence brought before the courts against Doran was so overwhelming that he had no choice other than to plead guilty.

"This conviction demonstrates our determination to bring offenders to justice and before the courts in the swiftest manner, with the best and strongest evidence available."
