Officers got more than they bargained for as they executed two warrants to clamp down on the misuse of drugs in Isleworth.

Police from Chiswick Neighbourhood Policing Team seized a quantity of cannabis as well as a new Triumph motorbike stolen from the Teddington area.

The motorbike recovered on Wednesday (April 12) has since been reunited with the owner.

Also found at one of the addresses was a number of motorbikes and mopeds with their identities removed.

Police say this had been done with the use of various tools in connection with hiding the identity of the the two-wheeled vehicles.

Insp Steve Edwards from Chiswick, Brentford and Syon Policing Teams says police are cracking down on the rise in two-wheeler thefts often used to commit other crimes.

Insp Edwards added: "There has been an increase in thefts of two-wheeled vehicles that are often then used for other crimes and we are determined to target those who are involved.

"This was exactly what this operation was about, arresting the perpetrators, seizing drugs and recovering stolen vehicles which can be returned to their owners."

One man, aged 20, was arrested for possession of drugs and motor vehicle theft offences.
