A new video featuring Stamford Bridge’s past, present and future has been created by Chelsea superfan and computer whizz Neil Vano .

It shows how the home of the Blues has evolved since 1970, and finishes with a look at the new "cathedral-style" stadium which was given planning permission at the start of the year .

The animation allows the viewer to view the stadium from various locations, and then compare how the view has changed at the different times in the stadium’s development .

Mr Vano is a Chelsea season ticket holder and computer scientist, and his three-minute film is now available to view on his YouTube page , along with several other videos, including virtual tours of the new 60,000 seat stadium .

The video shows viewpoints from the ground in its three incarnations, focusing on the original design complete with dog track, the 1990s-present day design, and the new stadium, which is yet to be built.

Mr Vano said: “I placed a camera in exactly the same spot so we can see what the views would’ve been like in the original stadium, what it’s like now and what it will look like in that exact same spot in the future.

“It gives comparison, and perspective, and helps people gauge where they are.”

Looking back at the past and forward to the future, he added: “It’s quite interesting to see how massively its developed from a running track with cages around it to keep the fans off the pitch.

“It’s come a long way to where it is now and to be able to project where its going is quite exciting really.”
