Stamford Bridge was briefly evacuated on Monday (May 15), ahead of the Premier League champions game against Watford.

The false alarm resulted in staff being evacuated from the stadium at around 5.30pm, only to be allowed back in a short while later.

A party atmosphere is expected at the match tonight, which is Chelsea’s first at home since securing the Premier League title, with their victory away from home against West Bromwich Albion on Friday (May 12).

Tweets posted showed people milling outside the hospitality area after an alarm sounded.

According to Mirror Online one of the alarms was sounded in one of the kitchens in the east stand and the club made the decision to evacuate people as a precaution.

After investigating the incident it was confirmed that it was a false alarm and staff have now been allowed back inside to prepare for the big game.
