Police have shut down a brothel in Southall which saw men turning up for sex - but being "thrown out, beaten up, and having their money stolen".
The same property, at 3 Heathway, The Common, was used as a hideout for wanted criminals, a police officer has revealed.
The brothel closure was part of three anti-social property shut downs during a police operation led by the gangs unit based in Acton, launched to target key drug dealers based primarily in the Old Southall area.
Operation Liber led to 20 arrests, some of which led to prison sentences.
PC Michael Meehan, dedicated ward officer for Southall Green Local Policing Team, said: "The team are absolutely delighted to have secured closure orders against these three addresses.
"They have been the focus of our attentions for many months and we are pleased to see our efforts pay off.
"More importantly however, we’re just pleased that residents of Southall Green can get the peace they deserve."
Southall Green Local Policing Team worked alongside the Anti-Social Behaviour team at Ealing Council to gain closure orders on three addresses, which were generating a disproportionate amount of crime and anti-social behaviour.
Police obtained impact statements from neighbours to present at court and provided an impact statement for each address highlighting the negative impact they had been causing for the local community.
The brothel at 3 Heathway saw large numbers of thefts from motor vehicles and complaints of street prostitutes operating in the vicinity, as police received complaints of men attending for sexual services, but being beaten up and having their money stolen before being thrown out of the address.
As well as being used as a safe house for wanted offenders, the dirty property housed a rat’s nest in the front garden.
Another address at 72B Regina Road, Southall, was used as a base to supply Class A from, attracting violence and criminal damage to the property, with the front windows being smashed repeatedly.
The third address, at 9 St Johns Road, housed two brothers who "were very well known to the police as Class A drug users", who also dealt drugs and are now behind bars.
Closure Orders for 3 Heathway and 72B Regina Road were issued on June 9 at Ealing Magistrates Court, with the third address being issued the following week.
