Schools face closure and transport services are disrupted after London was hit by snow.

The cold and icy weather , which began on Sunday (December 10), has left conditions in some areas unsafe as children go back to school on Monday morning (December 11).

It means many parents now have to make last-minute childcare arrangements, and possibly take time off.

Met Office forecasters have put out a yellow weather warning, amid fears that ice will make roads hazardous across in many regions.
