Snow and wind has affected flights to and from Heathrow Airport on Sunday December 10).

A spokesman for Heathrow Airport said on Twitter at 11.25am: "Weather across the UK and Europe is resulting in some passengers experiencing disruption to their journeys.

"As always, our priority is the safety of passengers, we apologise to those whose travel has been affected by today's weather."

Passengers are advised to check the status of their flights with airlines before travelling to the airport.

Heathrow's operations team is working closely with the Met Office to monitor the weather, the spokesman added.

The Met Office issued yellow warnings for snow and wind across south east England, including parts of north Surrey and London.
