A skip lorry got trapped under a low bridge at South Ruislip Underground Station on Monday morning (July 13).

Emergency services were called to the incident, in Long Drive, and the lorry remained wedged under the bridge on Monday lunchtime.

A Met Police spokesman told getwestlondon: "Police were called at 10.45am to reports of a lorry in collision with a bridge.

"The male driver was injured and was taken to a London hospital, his condition is unknown.

"The lorry is still there at this time."

Locals reported that the lorry had been removed by 3.30pm.

Photographer Roger Warren said the lorry had become "wedged" under the bridge.

He added: "The cab of the lorry has been crushed against the base of the bridge."

Metropolitan police confirmed that the road was cleared at around 1pm.
