Two police officers were taken to hospital alongside two members of the public after being assaulted in Chiswick.

Two other people attacked by a suspect declined medical treatment after the incident.

The force was called out to an incident at Turnham Green Terrace on Thursday (July 6) at 7.22pm after reports of an injured man behaving aggressively towards members of the public.

Officers arrested a 21-year old man on suspicion of GBH after four members of the public and two police officers were attacked and threaterened.

A spokesman from the Metropolitan Police said: "The suspect is believed to have sustained injuries to his arm as a result of self-harm prior to police being called.

"He was taken to hospital for treatment where he remains.

"Two members of the public and two police officers assaulted by the suspect were taken to a west London hospital as a precaution.

"Two others attacked by the suspect declined medical treatment."
