Two major sporting events will be forcing roads to close this weekend as west London plays host to the Six Nations and a Premier League football match .

The weather is not looking too bad for the second half of the weekend, so if you are venturing out on the roads , just make sure you check your route before heading out.

Here is our guide to help you navigate through the west London roads stress free.

Twickenham

A large amount of pedestrians are expected in the area

England are hosting France, kicking off the start of the Rugby Six Nations tournament at 4.50pm on February 4.

Motorists should be warned that the area is expected to be populated by large numbers of pedestrians both before and after the matches.

Traffic levels are expected to increase before and after the match, motorists should also be aware of high traffic levels after this match as the England Women will also host the French Women's team, kicking off at 7.35pm.

Twickenham Stadium

Avoid the A316 Chertsey Road if possible, as delays are expected.

London Road, Whitton Road and Rugby Road will be closed and diversions will be in place.

Chelsea

Chelsea match will cause travel disruption

On Saturday February 4, Fulham Road will be closed between Harwood Road and Finborough Road due to a Premier League football match.

Chelsea are hosting Arsenal at Stamford Bridge and large pedestrians numbers are expected in the area.

Traffic disruption is expected both before the 12.30pm kick off and after the match has finished.

Hanwell

Expect delays on the A4020 Uxbridge Road in all directions at the junction of Boston Road in Hanwell due to works facilitating a major borough street scheme.

Transport for London (TfL) warns of delays until September 1 2017.

Hounslow

If you are travelling on the A315 London Road, you should approach the junction of Spring Grove Road with caution as temporary traffic signals will be in place whilst sewer works are carried out.

TfL is warning of possible delays.

Also in Hounslow , the A4, Great West Road will be subject to lane closures in both directions between Chiswick Roundabout and Ealing Road.

Lane closures will be in place overnight

It is to facilitate Highways England investigation works.

Closures will be implemented from 10.30pm until 5am.

Ealing

There will be lane restrictions on the A4127 Greenford Roundabout clockwise at the junction of the A40 Western Avenue in Ealing .

Restrictions will be in place on the A40 slip roads between around 10pm and 5am each night whilst work to improve the junction is undertaken.

Oldfield Lane South will also be closed during the works.

Chiswick

TfL continue to warn of possible delays in both directions on the A406 Gunnersbury Avenue at the junction of Power Road in Chiswick .

It is due to the closure of Power Road for continuing bridge replacement works.

Works began in June 2016 and will be completed on Thursday January 4 2018.

Also in Chiswick, there are various closures to facilitate bridge refurbishment works.

There will be various restrictions and closures on Kew Bridge and Kew Road between Strand-on-the-Green and Kew Green due to refurbishment works.

Restrictions will remain in place until April 2.

Hammersmith

Motorists should expect delays on Hammersmith bridge.

The A306 at the bridge has a new weight limit imposed. Due to safety reasons, only one bus can cross the bridge at a time.

Works will continue until Sunday December 31 2017.

Brent

There will be a lane closure on the A406 North Circular Road southbound at the junction of Kenwyn Drive in Brent to facilitate works by UK Power Networks.

White City

Motorists could experience delays on the B412 St Marks Road at the junction of St Quintin Avenue, due to various road closures and restrictions in place to facilitate works.

Works will be in place until March 18.

Westminster

Various closures will be in place until March 13

There will be various restrictions in place on Birdcage Walk, Hyde Park Corner, Hyde Park and Lancaster Gate, until March 13.

It is to facilitate works for the Cycle Superhighway which will provide cycle routes from outer to inner London.

Also in Westminster, Bloomburg street at the junction of Vauxhall Bridge Road will be closed due to a burst water main.

The road will be closed in both directions

Knightsbridge

Work continues until April 2019 during the redevelopment of 55 to 91 Knightsbridge .

It is affecting the A4 in Knightsbridge in both directions between Wilton Place and William Street and the westbound bus lane is closed.
