Chelsea fans have been caught on film singing anti-Semitic songs on the Tube following their Stamford Bridge clash with London rivals Tottenham.

Footage filmed on the Underground following the match on Saturday (November 29) shows the fans singing distasteful chants while travelling from the stadium on the District line.

Tottenham traditionally have a large Jewish following and that was referenced by the fans after Antonio Conte’s team came from behind to end their rivals’ unbeaten start to the top-flight season.

Speaking to Mirror Football , a Tottenham fan said the Chelsea supporters were "goading any Spurs fans they could" and had attempted to cause trouble at two separate stations, only for police to step in.

The footage was filmed after Chelsea had beaten Spurs at Stamford Bridge

There is a history of anti-Semitic abuse from some Chelsea fans aimed at their Spurs counterparts when the teams meet.

It prompted the club to release a pre-match statement urging fans to refrain from such offensive remarks.

British Transport Police (BTP) has viewed the video footage and called it “completely unacceptable”.

A spokesperson for BTP said: “Intimidating or abusing anyone because of who they are or because of which football team they support is completely unacceptable.

“Since being made aware of this footage we have launched an investigation to understand exactly what happened and who was responsible.

“We want all Londoners to feel safe and welcome on public transport and we would encourage anyone who witnesses hate crime to report it to us so we can investigate.”

Anyone with information can call BTP on 0800 405040 or text 61016.
