The car caught fire just before rush hour causing delays

This is the moment a car fire forced the closure of one lane and led to heavy traffic on the A3220 Southbound on Friday (August 4).

The car caught fire near Westfield shopping centre in just before rush hour.

The incident happened around 3.55pm and forced the closure of one lane and led to heavy traffic between Ariel Way (Westfield) and A402 Shepherd’s Bush Green / A4020 Uxbridge Road (Holland Park Roundabout).

The burnt-out car was left on the hatched markings just before Holland Park Roundabout and all lanes re-opened around 4.30pm.

The incident followed another road closure in Ealing earlier in the day .

Police launched an appeal following a motorcycle collision in Greenford Road.

The pillion passenger was taken to hospital but the driver was not at the scene when the police arrived.
