Drivers faced delays on Thursday (October 12) after a vehicle struck a bridge in Shepherd's Bush .

Police officers closed Old Oak Common Lane after the vehicle crashed into a bridge at 2.15pm.

Motorists were urged to use alternative routes and make use of Scrubs Lane while police were at the scene.

A Network Rail spokesman said checks were being carried out on the bridge to ensure it is safe.

He said: “A vehicle struck Old Oak Common Lane bridge at 2.15pm.

“It caused minor delays for a short time."

"Services resumed as normal following an examination at around 2.30pm," he added.

No-one was injured in the collision and the road reopened at around 4.10pm the same day.
