A further severe weather warning for London has been issued by the Met Office, warning of hazardous conditions due to freezing fog overnight on January 24 and into tomorrow morning, January 25.

Overnight, temperatures across London and south east London will drop to lows of -2°C.

The Met Office warning states: "Areas of freezing fog, some dense, are expected to form again during Tuesday evening and last into Wednesday morning.

The warning is in place until 11am on January 25

"The fog will become more widespread through the night, with icy patches on untreated roads and paths an additional hazard."

"Travelling conditions will be difficult with journeys likely to take longer than usual and delays to air travel are possible."

Heathrow Airport passengers have already experienced disruption to travel with hundreds of flights being cancelled so far this week as the airport took extra precautions amid the weather warnings.
