Thousands have lined the streets of Notting Hill to enjoy the carnival parade this weekend.

The parade began on Sunday (August 28) morning slightly later than planned after rain meant a wet start to the bank holiday weekend fun.

But the skies did brighten, and once umbrellas had been put away the dancing commenced, with performers bouncing along the streets to some funky Caribbean and African beats.

While many will have watched the dancing from street level, not everyone is lucky enough to have the performers march past right outside their sitting room window.

But Twitter user @samfoodie was one such person, and got this overhead perspective of the parade marching past her home.

Many Notting Hill residents are said to flee their homes on carnival weekend, with a report suggesting 90% hate the parade and would like to see it moved to Hyde Park, but this was one neighbour happy to enjoy the occasion.
