A school in Hounslow is leading the way when it comes to helping students get to grips with their finances.

Lampton School has been recognised as a 'Centre of Excellence' for financial education after equipping pupils with the skills to manage their money.

It is one of just 52 schools and school clusters across the UK to earn the distinction from the Personal Finance Education Group (pfeg), which is part of the educational charity Young Enterprise.

The secondary school in Lampton Avenue, Hounslow, will now receive support to share its expertise with other schools in the vicinity as part of the initiative, which is backed by Santander.

Headteacher Sue John said: "The whole team here at Lampton School has worked extremely hard, with pfeg's help, to embed financial education in our curriculum – and I am pleased that their efforts have been rewarded with a Centre of Excellence award.

"We are already seeing the results of the high quality financial education we are now providing, which is bringing significant benefits to our students as they take their next steps in life."
