Scarefest is returning to Alton Towers Resort this Halloween and it promises to be one of the scariest yet.

According to the Staffordshire-based theme park, the horror-filled events will have "more spine-tingling terrors than ever before".

The three award-winning horror mazes will open their doors once again to thrill-seekers, who can even enjoy a brand new fourth maze, which has opened for 2017.

Throughout the Scarefest, Alton Towers will be open until 9pm so people can enjoy rides in the dark, alongside a travelling circus of characters roaming around the resort.

A spokesman for the theme park said this Scarefest promises to be the resort's "most terrifying year yet".

"Scarefest is back and has more spine-tingling terrors than ever before," the spokesman said.
