Commuters are enduring severe traffic delays this morning due to a lorry fire.

Work to recover the vehicle has caused A40 Western Avenue in Denham to close and gridlocked traffic eastbound between Denham Roundabout and Swakeleys Roundabout.

If you are travelling on the M25, the advice at the time of writing (10:50am) is that journey times will take 45 minutes longer clockwise and 90 minutes longer anti-clockwise. The M25 exit slip road is closed in both directions at Junction 16 of the M40.

There is also congestion anticlockwise to junction 19, M25 (Watford) and on clockwise to J9, A243 (Leatherhead).

The Highways Agency are dealing with the motorway closure and have informed us that they hope to have it open by 11 am this morning.
