London Waterloo passengers were treated to a rather unique performance on Thursday (November 2) as members of the Royal Marines graced the train station concourse showing off some unexpected moves.

As part of the 2017 Poppy Appeal , the troops had a spectacular idea to grab the attention of commuters - a spot of dancing, and not just any dancing - Dirty Dancing.

Yes, that iconic lift you have all watched so many times between Patrick Swayze and Jennifer Grey was recreated by our very own Royal Marines Commandos.

Posting a video to Twitter, Royal Marines said: "Nobody puts a bootneck in the corner... @royalmarines providing entertainment at London Waterloo for @PoppyLegion.

"Watch until the end!"

The video shows two marines putting their boots to good use with a few ballroom dance steps before another pair emerge to effortlessly show off the famous lift.

Bravo!

The Poppy Appeal runs until Remembrance Sunday on November 12 when, at 11am, services will be held across the country to remember all of those who have lost their lives serving for our country.
