A man, said to be a rough sleeper, has been hospitalised after being found with head injury in Uxbridge town centre.

Metropolitan Police were called by the London Ambulance Service (LAS) at 8.45am on Tuesday, (April 26) to reports of an injured man at High Street, Uxbridge.

An eyewitness saw police on the scene and described the incident as 'nasty' and involving a homeless man.

A police spokesperson said: "The man was taken to a north west London hospital with his injuries.

"No arrests have been made.

"Enquiries continue to establish the facts of the incident."

London Ambulance Service confirmed they were called at 8.51am to reports of an incident on Uxbridge High Street.

An LAS spokesperson said: "We sent an ambulance crew and took one man with a head injury to hospital".
