Twenty firefighters tackled a blaze at a restaurant in Isleworth , which left the basement badly damaged.

Firefighters were called to the restaurant in Twickenham Road shortly after 4pm on Thursday (February 18).

The fire was under control by 5.03pm, with 40% damage to the basement, a spokeswoman for London Fire Brigade said.

She added that four fire engines and 20 firefighters had attended the blaze and said there were no reports of any injuries.

The name of the restaurant has not yet been confirmed.

Twickenham Road was reportedly closed in both directions as firefighters dealt with the blaze, with buses being diverted.
