Boroughs across West London laid wreaths in silence as they paid their respects to war heroes on the Day of Remembrance.

Services took place across the region, including Fulham , Ealing and Harrow to honour those who fought or died in the First World War.

Councillors, MP's and families from the boroughs made way for street parades and a two minutes silence was held to remember those who have lost their lives in all conflicts marking British history.

Mayor of Harrow, Councillor Krishna Suresh said: “I was delighted to see so many people young and old at our Remembrance Parade and Service this weekend.

"Remembrance day is a time for all of us to pause and remember the ultimate sacrifice that people gave to protect the freedoms we all enjoy today.

"It is also a time to remember serving members of the armed forces who are stationed all over the world today.

"I’d like to thank everyone who attended the service including members from all the different community and faith groups in the borough.”

Over 1200 members of the public attended the Remembrance Day Parade and Service organised by the Eastcote Branch of The Royal British Legion.

Held at the Eastcote War Memorial, the service was led by Reverend Chris Rankine and Alan Wright of St Lawrence Church.
