We're bringing you the latest on a collision and assault which led to the closure of Harrow Road in Harlesden.

A man believed to be in his 20s was taken to hospital with a serious head injury after apparently being hit by a car in Tubbs Road, just off Harlesden High Street, in the early hours of Thursday (July 7).

A second man, thought to be in his 40s, was also taken to hospital after being assaulted in Harlesden High Road. Police have said his injuries are not life-threatening.

Police said they were called at around 2.45am to reports of a disturbance in Tubbs Road, where the younger man was found.

Officers are still investigating the incident and no arrests have been made.

Harrow Road was closed in both directions following the incident, before reopening shortly after midday.

Man taken to hospital as a priority with head injury

London Ambulance Service said it was called at 4.44am this morning to reports of an assault in Harlesden High Street.

“We sent an ambulance crew and a single responder in a car,” said an LAS spokeswoman.
“We treated a man at the scene for a head injury and took him as a priority to a major trauma centre in west London.”

'Severe' disruption on roads in the area

BBC Travel is still reporting severe traffic disruption in the area.

It says there is now congestion on the A4000 Station Road to North Acton, on Acton Lane to Harlesden station and Stonebridge, on Brentfield Road to Neasden, and on the A407 Church Road to the Neasden Lane junction.

Man taken to hospital after being struck by car following reports of fight

Police say they were called at around 2.45am this morning to reports of a fight and disturbance in Tubbs Road, near the junction with Harrow Road.

Officers found a man, believed to be in his 20s, who was taken to hospital where he remains in a serious condition.

Police said he appeared to have been struck by a car during the disturbance, and the vehicle had left the scene.

Police said a second man, believed to be in his 40s, had been assaulted in Harlesden High Road.

He was taken to hospital with injuries which police said were not life-threatening.

Crime scenes remain in place at both locations, as officers from Brent investigate.

No arrests have been made.

Road remains closed as police deal with incident overnight

Harrow Road, Harlesden, is closed in both directions and there are reports of long delays after a police incident overnight.

The closure is in place between Scrubs Lane and Furness Road, near Willesden Junction station.

The incident has been reported as involving a collision and an assault, and we will bring you further details of what happened as we have them.

It is understood the incident took place shortly before 3am this morning, in or around Tubbs Road.

We are awaiting further details from the emergency services.

Diversions are in place for bus routes 18 and 220, via Wrottesley Road and Park Parade, according to BBC Travel.
