Chiswick Bridge has been closed after a ‘serious’ traffic accident near Chalkers Corner on the A316.
Metropolitan Police and London Ambulance Service are at the scene and photos on Twitter show what looks to be a four car pile-up.
This has been confirmed by Transport for London (TfL). A spokesperson said the accident happened at around 11.20am.
Police said three people were injured. Two were treated at the scene while a third was taken to hospital with injuries which are not thought to be life threatening.
The road closure caused significant congestion in and around the area with police advising people to stay clear if possible.
TfL say the road reopened before 4pm, but warned traffic would remain heavy while the roads returned to normal.
