Readers have reacted with disgust and anger after burglars tricked their way into the home of a 101-year-old before stealing her money .

getwestlondon reported on Monday (October 10) how three men claiming to be from the water board entered the centenarian’s home in Shepherd’s Bush before stealing cash.

It comes as little surprise that our Facebook page subsequently went into meltdown as readers gave their reaction to the callous distraction burglary, and their thoughts on the people who carried it out.

One noun commonly used to describe the thieves was “scumbags”.

But perhaps we’ll leave the last word to Ruksana Choudhry. She wrote: “How sad is this cannot believe it.”
