The Hammersmith Society will be announcing this year’s winners of its prestigious Environment Awards at its AGM on Thursday (June 11).

The event is being held in the cinema in the newly refurbished and extended Lyric Theatre, Hammersmith.

The award presentation will be preceded by a tour of the new facilities from 7pm and a brief talk at 7.30pm on the works at the Lyric by Director Jessica Hepburn.

The Awards will be presented by the Mayor of Hammersmith & Fulham, Councillor Mercy Umeh.

Award winners are entitled to display the Society’s plaque, which is available in either polished brass or stainless steel.

There has been a bumper crop of

  • 21, Banim Street – Small infill housing scheme
  • Dorsett Hotel, Shepherd's Bush Green – Hotel converted from former cinema
  • St Peter’s Place – Housing replacing former VW garage
  • Lyric Theatre – Extension and refurbishment
  • The Nook - Infill housing in St Stephen’s Avenue
  • New modern houses by the railway at Waldo Road, College Park
  • 23 Keith Grove – New modern house
  • Hammersmith & City Line Station – Altered and refurbished entrance
  • Apollo Theatre – Refurbished Interiors

Wooden Spoons will also be awarded on the night for schemes, projects or howlers.
