A man remains in a serious condition in hospital after being stabbed in the neck in a late-night attack in Portobello Road.
Police believe a female driver in a blue Peugeot attempted to run the man over at the busy nightlife hotspot before a male passenger jumped out of the car and chased the victim.
The man was stabbed in the neck while he was on the floor and police believe the passenger then ran back to the car which made off north on Portobello Road.
A 34-year-old man later threatened police with a knife when they attempted to arrest him at an address in Shepherd's Bush in connection with the stabbing.
Police Tasered the man and arrested him along with a 36-year-old woman. Both were taken to a west London police station.
The woman was later released under investigation but the man has been charged with grievous bodily harm, wounding with intent and possession of an offensive weapon.
DC Lindy Casson, from Kensington and Chelsea CID said: “This was a particularly violent attack during what would have been a busy time even at that hour as Portobello Road has a vibrant night time economy.
"I am appealing to anyone who witnessed the incident, or saw the suspect vehicle – a blue Peugeot - in the area before or after the incident to contact us on 020 8246 0186.”
