Police are searching for a man released early from prison for burglary convictions following a series of break-ins.

Officers say there has been a spate of burglaries at properties in Brent, Ealing , Camden and Hackney, and want to speak to 39-year-old Michael McDonagh.

He was recently released from serving a sentence from 2014 for burglary but has since failed to meet his probation requirements. Police have now been tasked with returning him to prison.

However, they also want to speak to him in relation to the six break-ins across London since July 5, and have released an image of the suspect.

He is white, around 5ft 7ins tall and medium build. He has dark hair which officers now believe he has shaved off, and blue eyes.

McDonagh is known to have links to Ealing, Brent and areas in north London and Essex.

Any members of the public who spot McDonagh are being advised not approach him but instead call 999 immediately.

Anyone with any information on his whereabouts can contact DC Mark Pinder, or the Camden Borough Fugitive Team, by calling 101, or by contacting Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 or crimestoppers-uk.org
