Police are searching for a runaway driver who crashed into another car after failing to stop for officers in Northolt.

A spokeswoman for the Metropolitan Police said: "Officers indicated for a vehicle to stop and he jumped out of the car and made off.

"The vehicle collided with another when it failed to stop."

Reports say a police helicopter has been circling around the Northolt area for around 20 minutes, from 1pm on Thursday (August 6).

The helicopter has been spotted hovering above the White Hart roundabout on the A312.

@robertapotatoes said on Twitter: "Helicopters in Northolt trynna [sic] find the runaway crash driver."
