Reality and fiction collided as police raided a suspected drugs den in Hounslow to find the occupants watching an old episode of The Bill.

Officers executed a search warrant at the property in Brookwood Road, Hounslow, on Tuesday (February 16) morning, following complaints from neighbours about alleged drug use.

Police said the four occupants were sitting watching the crime drama when they were interrupted.

Sergeant Mark Ogunwe, of Hounslow police, said no drugs were found at the property but there was a lot of drugs paraphernalia present, including used syringes, foil and a crack pipe.

He said no one had been arrested following the raid but that police were looking at the possibility of securing a closure order at the address.

Should police secure such an order at the courts, in response to complaints of crime and antisocial behaviour emanating from the address, the occupants would be forced to leave and prevented from returning within three months.

A closure order was recently secured by police, working in conjunction with Hounslow Council , on a property in Brentford, where neighbours had complained of drug-taking, foul language and public urination.
