Police investigating the serious assault on a football fan following the FA Cup semi-final between Chelsea and Tottenham at Wembley have made an arrest.

Michael Voller sustained facial injuries including a broken cheek bone, eye socket and skull when he was set upon by fellow Spurs fan who had mistaken him for a Chelsea supporter.

A 21-year-old was arrested on Tuesday (May 9) and has since been released from police custody while enquiries continue.

Police continue to appeal for anyone with information to come forward.

The 23-year-old victim was talking past Moore Spice Indian restaurant in Engineers Way at around 7.30pm on April 22 when he was targeted by another group of Tottenham fans walking in the opposite direction.

It is believed that one of the group mistakenly believed Michael was a rival Chelsea supporter and punched him in the face.

Anyone with information regarding the assault should contact Brent CID on 020 8733 3737 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
