A man police appealed to speak to after a sexual assault at a London Underground station has been linked to a harassment incident elsewhere on the network.
Officers released images of a man following the sexual assault of a vulnerable woman at Marble Arch station on February 23.
British Transport Police has now released further images of who they think is the same man following separate incidents at Walthamstow Central underground station in March.
The 21-year-old victim reported on two different occasions that she noticed she was being followed by a man she did not know from a Victoria Line train, who then apparently waited for her at the escalators at Walthamstow.
The man was acting suspiciously and making the victim feel uncomfortable.
She was not injured during these incidents but has been left feeling upset and nervous about using the underground.
Officers have linked the incidents with a sexual assault which happened at Marble Arch station, where an arthritic woman in her 40s was helped to the platform by a man who then touched her inappropriately and tried to kiss her.
Investigating officer, Det Con Andrew Parkinson, said: “I would like to speak to the man shown in the CCTV images as he may have information which could help with the investigation into these two incidents, which we now believe are linked.
“The harassment against the woman at Walthamstow Central has left the victim feeling very intimidated and unsafe. Officers are supporting her as the investigation continues.
“It is vital that we trace the man responsible so that we can establish the full circumstances of the harassment incidents.
“Similarly we are still appealing for information regarding the sexual assault at Marble Arch.
“If you have any information at all, no matter how insignificant it may seem to you, or if you recognise the man in these CCTV images, please contact me as soon as possible by calling 0800 40 50 40 or texting 61016 quoting reference number 175 21/04/17.”
