A murder inquiry has been launched by police following the stabbing of a 16-year-old boy in Notting Hill .

Officers are appealing for witnesses or anyone with information to come forward after the teen, who has not been formally identified but is known locally and on social media as Fola Orebiyi, died on Portobello Road on Sunday (July 3) evening.

Police were still at the scene this afternoon (Monday), with Aston House in Portobello Court taped off. Flowers and candles had been left near La Cave a Fromage , where a witness said the teen stumbled to before collapsing.

Police are yet to formally identify the 16-year-old who died yesterday, but he has been named locally as Fola Orebiyi

Regulars at a nearby pub said they saw a young man with “blood coming out of his neck” .

Paramedics from the London Ambulance Service and Air Ambulance were called to the scene at around 8.45pm and implemented first aid and CPR but were unable to save the victim.

Next of kin have been informed and a post-mortem examination will take place in due course.

Detectives from the Met’s Homicide and Major Crime Command are investigating. No arrests have been made.
