Police are hunting a man suspected of sexually assaulting a woman in her 70s.

Officers were called to Larch Crescent, in Yeading, at around 4.25pm on Thursday (February 12), following reports of a sexual assault.

A helicopter was used in the search but the suspect had fled by the time police arrived. No arrests have been made.

The victim was taken to a haven.

Police closed the field next to Middlesex Scrap Metals. The business is not implicated

Residents living nearby said the field backing on to Larch Crescent, Yeading Lane and Yeading Fork, near to Middlesex Scrap Metals, was cordoned off on Friday (February 13), with officers standing guard and a tent erected.

The suspect is described as a white man, aged in his 30s, 6ft tall and of medium build. He wore a grey tracksuit top and black trousers.

Detectives from the Metropolitan Police's Sexual Offences Exploitation and Child Abuse Command are investigating.
