Two brothels have been closed in Hounslow in the space of a week, police have revealed.
Brothels in School Road, Hounslow, and Hanworth Road, Hounslow, were shut down last week, officers in the borough tweeted on Saturday (February 6).
The latest closures mean police in the area have now closed six brothels in the last few months.
Sergeant Mark Ogunwe, of Hounslow Police, said the brothels in School Road and Hanworth Road had been causing a "nuisance" to the community.
He said they had been closed using powers under the Anti-social Behaviour Act, in conjunction with the London Borough of Hounslow Policing Team.
Hounslow sector inspector Andrew Morrow said Hounslow Central ward officer PC Andy Field had led efforts to close six brothels in the area in the last few months.
"We're continuing to take a robust stance with the child sexual exploitation side of brothels in the town. We're currently working with a lot of our support agencies on this issue," he told getwestlondon.
