The Met Police have issued an appeal for help in identifying a man they wish to speak to following a hate crime in Hammersmith.

Police in Hammersmith and Fulham are investigating the incident in which graffiti was smeared on the front of a Polish centre shortly after the Brexit vote result last year.

The images, taken from CCTV, show the suspect at the time of the incident on June 26, which is believed to have occurred at 5.23am.

The incident is being treated as a hate crime.

Police were called to the scene in King Street at 10.25am after offensive graffiti was coated on the front of a Polish Social and Cultural Association.

The incident shocked the nation and the community, with several high profile politicians and members of the Polish community visiting in the aftermath to offer support.

The suspect has been captured on CCTV as he approached the location on a bike, stopping on top of the stairs outside the door.

He can then be seen spraying yellow graffiti on the doors of the community centre, before fleeing on his bike towards Hammersmith Broadway.

The CCTV shows that he was wearing a grey hoodie with an orange hi-vis jacket over the top.

There have so far been no arrests in the investigation.

DC Robert Rodak, from Hammersmith and Fulham's Community Safety Unit, said: "Our enquiries are ongoing and I am now appealing for the public's help in identifying this man.

The incident is believed to have occurred at 5.23am.

"We take incidents of hate crime very seriously so I am keen to hear from anyone who may think they recognise him.

"Anyone who contacts us will have their information dealt with in the strictest of confidence."
