British actor Bob Hoskins has died of pneumonia at the age of 71.

The actor, famed for his roles in Who Named Roger Rabbit, died in hospital yesterday, his agent has said.Hoskins was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease and retired from acting in 2012. He is survived by wife Linda and children Alex, Sarah, Rosa and Jack.

One of his most famous films The Long Good Friday, a 1979 gangster tale starring Helen Mirren, was shot in and around London, including at Paddington station, The Savoy Hotel, Wigmore Street and Heathrow Airport.
