Police have arrested a 19-year-old woman in connection with the murder of Khalid Safi in North Acton .

Officers arrested the woman in Redbridge on Wednesday (December 7) on suspicion of conspiracy to murder.

She has been bailed to return on a date in early January next year pending further enquries.

On Thursday December 1 Metropolitan police were called to Victoria Road at around 6.30pm following reports of a fight.

Officers attended and found the 18-year-old victim suffering from stab injuries.

He was taken to a west London hospital by London Ambulance Service (LAS) where a died shortly after.

The victim has been formally identified as Khalid Safi, who was recently living in Southwark but had links to Wembley, Peterborough and Walsall.

A post-mortem held on Friday (December 2) gave the cause of death as a stab wound to the heart.

Detectives continue to appeal for witnesses or anyone with information to contact them.

Detective chief inspector Sam Price, who is leading the investigation for the homicide and major crime command, said: "There were a lot of people in the area of Victoria Road at the time of the incident and, while we have spoken to several people, I believe that not everyone has come forward at this time.

"I am continuing to appeal for anyone who witnessed the fatal stabbing or the moments leading up to it to contact officers in the incident room.

"I would urge anyone who can assist our investigation to come forward as soon as possible."
