Commuters from to and from Uxbridge faced a miserable journey on Wednesday morning (February 8) after two separate events caused major delays.

Transport for London (TfL) announced at around 6.30am that service was resuming with severe delays after engineering work finished late.

These delays were then made worse by a signal failure, which caused more severe delays between Acton Town and Uxbridge, and Heathrow, with minor delays affecting the rest of the line.

Both the minor and the severe delays continued through the morning until 10am when services were then stopped between Rayners Lane and Uxbridge because of a signal failure.

TfL also stopped services running between Harrow on the Hill and Uxbridge because of a signal failure at Ruislip.

TfL said tickets were being accepted on local buses for any commuters unable to make their way to their destination.

The rest of the London Underground network has a good service.
