A pensioner is fighting for his life following a crash outside a supermarket in Hounslow.

Police said the pedestrian was taken to hospital following a collision with a car in Hanworth Road, Hounslow, on Sunday (February 21) at around 6.15pm.

They said the man, believed to be aged 70, was taken to hospital with injuries to his leg and hip.

Police said on Monday (February 22) afternoon that he required surgery and his injuries were considered to be life-changing and possibly life-threatening due to his age.

The crash happened close to the junction with Nelson Road and Wellington Road South, near to the Tesco Express store. It is believed the man was crossing the road at the time.

Nobody has been arrested in connection with the collision.

London Ambulance Service said it was called to the scene at 6.15pm and sent an ambulance crew and a single responder in a car.
