A pensioner has died after he was unable to recover from his injuries following a collision with a van in Ealing .
Frank Cubis from Perivale lost his fight for life just short of seven weeks after he was rushed to hospital where he remained in critical condition until his death on Tuesday (July 5).
The 75-year-old cyclist was on his bike when there was a crash with a flatbed transit van at the junction of Northfield Avenue and Salisbury Road, on May 25.
Metropolitan Police said they were called at around 10am to reports of a collision, and paramedics from the London Ambulance Service and the London’s Air Ambulance attended the scene of the accident.
Next of kin have been informed and formal identification has taken place.
A post-mortem examination will be held in due course.
Detectives continue to appeal for witnesses to the collision to come forward with any information they have including details on the events leading up to the crash.
The male driver of the van stopped at the scene and is helping police with their enquiries.
He has not been arrested but was interviewed under caution.
The driver continues to assist detectives with their investigation.
