Police are appealing for witnesses following a serious collision in Westminster .

Officers from the Met Police were called to the scene by the London Ambulance Service at just before 5pm on Friday, November 25 after reports that a bus had been in a collision with a pedestrian.

The incident, involving a Route 46 bus, happened on the crossing at Warwick Avenue junction with Clifton Gardens.

The London Ambulance Service and the London Fire Brigade also attended the scene.

The female pedestrian who is believed to be in her mid-20s, was taken to hospital where she is said to be in a critical condition.

Detectives from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit are investigating. No arrests have been made and enquiries into the incident continue.

Roads which were closed following the collision have now been reopened.
