A pedestrian is fighting for his life after a serious collision with a car in Hanworth.

A man was rushed to hospital in a critical condition in the early hours of Monday (February 22) morning.

Police were called by the London Ambulance Service (LAS) to Uxbridge Road, near to Apex Corner roundabout at 3.40am following reports of a collision between a car and a pedestrian.

The Metropolitan Police said a male pedestrian was found seriously injured and rushed to a west London hospital where his injuries are being treated as life threatening.

The driver of the car stopped at the scene of the accident.

The A312 Hampton Road West remained closed for several hours in both directions between Apex Corner and the Uxbridge Road junction.

Buses were placed on diversion.

Officers remain on scene and motorists are advised to avoid the area.
